"We didnt get value for money at all." (97438342)

We was up-graded from standard to executive but the carpet was poor in room 611

The breakfast was very poor for the money, we ended up only eating the toast as the cooked food was hard and cold plus not much selection

  • 9/10 Nicholas (Young couple)

Poor internet booking system made it difficult to modify booking

"The hotel is being refurbished I was not informed of this, the site said it had a poor it did not, the toilets (due to refurbishment) were an absolute disgrace. Staff generally friendly but check in was unnecessarily complicated & rude Worst hotel I have been in for years and I travel with work and stay in mid to budget level hotels all over Europe, Ireland & the UK (approx 70 nights a year)" (97765290)

The staff were friendly, the food was pretty good, the location is very central

Rooms were tiny, the toilets were a disgrace, service was very slow, check in was terrible

"Thought the room was nice but didn't think the evacuation was handled very well." (108033244)

    Room was very nice.

Kettle had faulty connection. Fire alarm went off at 6 am. Was not kept informed by staff as to what was going on. Was standing in the street and no member of staff came and told us we could go back in, it was another guest who told us.

"everything was excellent apart from getting to the hotel" (97698983)

room was nice and clean and staff were very friendly and nothing was too much bother

wasnt clear when booking that it was a ramada hotel so the building was passed when trying to find the hotel

No sense of urgency from anyone, especially the bar staff, the worse ive seen in years.

"Hotel name has changed which did not help as there is now no reference to Jarvis at the entrance. On arrival, the lobby was deserted, and only a small sign next to the lift informed us that reception is on the second floor. At breakfast, we were told that tea coffee and toast would be served at our table but we had to cross the room and ask as the waiting staff had more more important things to do(talk). Tables were not cleared immediately and I saw one party having to clean and clear their table themselves." (97931888)

    location, fast lifts, refurbished room.

surly and unhelpful bar and breakfast staff. Bar prices

"Hotel is being refurbished and is in a poor state at the moment, again this should be made clearer when booking." (97667726)

It was okay but expensive for what was on offer.

No parking within the hotel and had to pay over £17.00 to park in a local car park making the total cost very expensive and this should be clearly highlighted when booking to make people aware of the parking situation.

"the hotel was undergoing refurbishment so there were some slight disruption to the ground floor and reception area but this did not affect our stay. The beds were lovely and clean but the room smelled strongly of dried urine!! The element in the kettle was burnt and on complaining it was immediately exchanged. The hairdryer only blew out cold air so was unusable. However on the whole a pleasant stay." (97380931)

The central location to the city center and Canal street. The cleanliness of the room and the breakfast was good value for money.

The current upgrading of the hotel sometimes caused interruptions with the stay.

Hotel will be lovely when work is complete. Room was very pleasent and cosy.

Bathroom in hotel although clean was shabby looking compared to nice bedroom. was surprized that bar/resturant didnt have toilets, i had to go upstairs which wasnt a big problem, but it was kind of spooky.

"The hotel was very hard to find, we managed to get the street easily enough. but at ground level there was no sign saying Picadilly hotel, it was only by chance that we found the hotel. The restaunt and bar were closed. all your staff were polite and informative. and i would reccomend your hotel again. but only for somewhere to stay. not for fine dining and a well stocked bar." (97492140)

the room was nice and spacious. well decorated and was quite stylish.

we were un able to open the windows, there was some rope dangling which kept tapping the window.

from Bewdley , GB on  December 15, 2007

    Comfortable if slightly small bedroom

Missing double glazing panels meant that the room was noisier than it should have been. Some of the public areas were messy and cold due to refurb work.

  • 2/10 Susan (Mature couple)

    location only

Currently being refurbished and in my opinion should be closed.very poor rooms.Electrical work caused much disruption and the hotel appeared to be unsafe in certain areas. Fire alarm procedures were not carried out correctly when alarm went off.

"The morning of my stay there was a power cut in the hotel and surrounding block. This meant that I did not receive my wake up call and thus was late for my morning meeting, and obviously was unable to use the iron/hairdryer etc. There also did not seem to be any emergency light in the room? A somewhat dishevelled day! It would have been nice to see some sort of compensation on the bill. When I enquired on checkout I was told that I could speak to the guest care manager however I had a train to catch and also did not want to make a fuss if nothing was offered. Whilst I fully appreciate that the power cut was due to an external fire and not your fault (as was pointed out), it certainly wasn't mine!! I have just started travelling to Manchester on business and will be doing so several nights a week for the indefinate future. I would not let my stay last week put me off staying with you again however it would have been nice to have felt compensated for the inconvenience with some gesture of apology." (97662000)

The newly refurbished rooms are very welcoming and very nicely finished

One of the inner double glazing window panels was missing which made the room quite noisy and in the morning quite cold. I did ask to transfer rooms but the other room i moved to was exactly the same!?! A shame when everything else in the room was so nicely finished
