"stayed here 3 times before. no problems with room or staff. location excellent. Parking prices have got expensive though!" (97678721)

very central location, about 100 meters from the Arndale center and near to the centre and MEN arena

no hotel parking. 2 NCP car parks right next to the hotel, but the first is £16.50 for over 8 hours, while the multistorey is £13.50 for over 8 hours!

the room was a ---- pit secondary double glazing hanging off was bitten when in bed bathroom stunk room was cold the beds were so uncomfortable The lifts was out of order has to walk up three flights of stairs. The reception was well presented which make people think that the rest of the hotel was ok not.

"The worst hotel experience ever." (107194416)

The location of the hotel is very good. The waiter in the restuarant was very friendly and polite, however the food was overpriced and below standard,it was generally cold especially breakfast.

The room was dark dirty and dismal. The bathroom was dirty and the shower temperature difficult to adjust. The bed was so uncomfortable due to the springs poking through that I hardly slept a wink, the blanket and cover were dirty and the pillows were a disgrace, the air conditioning was extremely loud and did not work properly, the room was incredibly hot despite having it on cotinuously.I have never in my life experienced such conditions in a hotel as these. My room was on the fourth floor which added to my distressing experience at this hotel as the lift was not working nor had been for quite some time, this was not made clear at the time of my booking.

"Not value for money, nothing about my experience of the hotel stands out as positive, wouldn't return unless there was nowhere else" (107284417)

Location - convenient and has swimming pool and spa

Lifts were out of order, trouser press in room didn't work, they have one iron and ironing board in a room on the 6th floor which is very strange, the room decor looks dated inside. Not worth the money paid - they were obviously making the most of the conference by charging as much as they could

"The fact that the hotel owners appear to have made no effort to fix the lift but b=have just trried to save money and cover it up. I am gong back to manchester with mates in november and was thinking about staying at your hotel but as i do not think that the owners care enough about return costum i will not be returning and instead will use the travel lodge!!!" (107219232)

Clean hotel, nice spa area, breakfast was good happy that i got a discounted rate as i booked breakfast for the next day at check-in. breakfast was fair value for money

LIFT NOT WORKING! For a hotel chain this big i would have expected you to have a working lift. Had read about the lift not working but as the report was written a while ago i had expected this to have been fixed! When we arrived the receptionist told us about the lift not working as if it had broken a day ago and they were waitng onsomeone to come and fix it. this was obviously not ture A. because of what i had read and B. the fact that the FIRE ESCAPE that we had to walk up to get to our floor was carpeted for floors 5 and 6 this would not be the case if the lift had only just broken. the Hotel had singage to show where we were to go to get to the stairs and they were on brass plaques on the wall again if the lift had just broken this would not be the case.

"Building ok. Staff good. Breakfast ok." (108059996)

Room upgrade provided at check-in to one with a window. Staff helpful, polite, friendly attentive to customer/residents tasks. Well positioned in centre of City. But can be noisy (City Centre, not hotel) at night.

constantly dripping tap in bath. Newspaper wad used to block hole where door lock had been removed! Flickering/failing lights in corridors. Dirty windows to room.

"Adequate for our stay, which was overnight. Appreciate that work is going on in the hotel and I would like to review again when the refurbishment is complete." (108084432)

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception and Bar area was welcoming. Very good, central location.

The hotel is being refurbished and the budget room we were allocated was in need of update. The furniture had seen better days and the bed was uncomfortable. We also had an extractor fan which automatically switched on and off every half an hour throughout the night. There was a wide variety of food to choose from at Breakfast, but if you chose to eat a cooked breakfast, the ingredients were cold.

(107214223)

the service was very good. staff were friendly and helpful. it was very clean and room service was very quick. very pleasant.

no window in a smoking room so the room was very very stuffy and hot which made it hard to sleep. elevator not working..not happy dragging suitcase up tro the 4th floor. and the breakfast was not nice. we paid for breakfast for 2 days but after the first moring never went back.

Reception taff were friendly and accomadating

Lifts not working customers had to use staff lifts or walk the stairs. Staff lists were back of house and were very old, and in a bad state of repair. Since customers had to use the staff facilites, this region of the hotels was grotty and in very poor condition

    the staff was very helpful

the lifts was not working and I was not informed prior to my stay and they new that the lifts would be out of action, we were on the top floor and if anybody in my party couldnt make stairs we would have had problems. If Sachas call this an executive twin they have lost there marbles, I have stayed at a premier inn in Rugby which was more executive and half the price!!!!

Friendly staff - willing to help. Very convenient - centre of town - usually good value for money

Main lifts have been out of order for a few weeks, service lift very slow. Reception did not know that the room allocated had a problem - water dripping down wall and being collected in buckets.

"The fact that we were placed in smoking rooms spoilt the stay, and the lack of respect for our wishes was inexcusable." (108085997)

The reception area was open and friendly and the duty manager tried to be helpful with my complaint.

we were not offered a non-smoking room and this caused a great deal of distress. smoking rooms were not advertised and the hotel gave the impression it was non smoking when we asked for a an upgrade/refund we were told that we could only be upgraded at 3pm Whilst we were attending a function. This was not asatisfactory and we requested a refund. We were then fobbed off with promises that the General Manager would see us. The General manager was in fact absent from the office on the day we checked out.

the hotel is long overdue for a makeover, the rooms are frankly unacceptable and shabby and the smoke alarms were hanging off the ceiling?! I can't believe in this day and age that this costs £50, do yourselves a favour and stay further out in a chain premier lodge etc where you can get guaranteed standards...there you won't pay extra for having a room with a window!!!!!!

Room was very shabby. Clearly no upkeep for many years; dirty and cracked windows, chipped units in bath, bathroom sealant been botched over the years, matress very old and uncomfortble. In general room could do with a bit of a refurbishment. Not value for money in my opinion.

Friendly staff, on return after night out felt secure with security on door only admitting actual residents. Very comfortable feel to hotel, looks good.

Checking In was quite slow, waiting for room to come available when checking in was from 2pm & we were well after that. Room was adequate, room & bedding clean & tidy, TV & Bathroom in particular were in need of sprucing up, looking a bit dated.

"To start with things seemed lovely, nice big clean entrance, friendly welcome, let us check in early, then it all went down hill, no lifts working, had to use dirty grotty staff areas, the room was shabby, but would do, but glad I didn’t pay full price, had a lovely evening at a concert, to come back and have our night ruined by too much noise so much so the floor was vibrating 2 floors up, no working TV to try and drown the noise out, ignorance, rudeness from staff and no food available like advertised. But, thankfully when we complained AGAIN face to face this time at front desk the manager came, swapped our room to the 6th floor, promised the party would end soon (which it didn’t) and music be turned down (which it wasn’t) and also asked the restaurant to prepare some food for us to take to our room, which was very nice, very tasty. He was very pleasant and understanding, and the room we were given was 10 times better than the one we were in originally. If I went to Manchester again I would consider this hotel but I would ask for the exact same room on the 6th floor. And would never pay full price for it, this hotel is not, in my opinion and experience a 4 star." (97488742)

Entrance and greeting, good, friendly, baggage store good, food from restaurant tasty.

We were given a room on the 3rd floor, this room had an old dingy bathroom, mucky windows, a TV that didn’t work, with a remote that didn’t work, air condition vent in roof that hissed so loud we had to block it up, and there was a wedding that went on until 1.30am and the music was SO LOUD it made the floor vibrate on the THIRD floor, and the wedding was on the FIRST floor. Rude staff when we complained over the phone, no all night room service as advertised and finally most of the staff in general did not seem to know what was going on, or what to do. Plus we got interrogated by the security guard for entering our hotel.
